De Bortoli is built around the family philosophy of sharing good wine, good food, and good times, and that warmth comes through in everything from the cellar door to the restaurant floor.
Founded by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli, the Yarra Valley estate is now run by their granddaughter Leanne De Bortoli and her husband, chief winemaker Steve Webber, a family legacy that still feels personal, nearly a century on. Located approximately 50 km north-east of Melbourne near Dixons Creek, the estate spans over 170 hectares across three vineyard sites and is home to the winery, cellar door, and Locale Restaurant, all open seven days a week.

A staff member takes you through a hand-picked selection of De Bortoli's Yarra Valley wines, explaining each one, where the grapes grew, how the wine was made, and what makes it worth drinking.
Warm, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming, De Bortoli's cellar door reflects four generations of Italian hospitality. Staff here are not reading from a script.
Cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Syrah, alongside wines from the family's other Australian regions and the legendary Noble One dessert wine.
Sit at the bar, take a cheese platter to the gardens, or book a table at Locale Restaurant for a proper Italian lunch. There is no set way to spend your time here.
Locale Restaurant sits on a hill with the estate vineyards below and the Great Dividing Range and Dandenong Ranges framing either side, a lunch setting that is hard to beat in the valley.
Guided tours include return transfers from Melbourne, so every member of the group can drink freely without anyone sitting out.
